Back to business…
Sometimes I think the hardest thing about starting a blog is, well…starting a blog. This is my second attempt to get things rolling after giving up for more than a year. In that time, I’ve gotten more organized in my thoughts and actions, learned to accept (at least to some extent) my limitations, and now I’m more prepared to “hang it out there” for better or worse.
In going forward, I will be keeping a record of happenings on the homestead, as well as researching and offering alternatives to the toxic products that infiltrate our lives, from the garden to the kitchen and more. I will be posting a blog at least monthly, with updates on our progress and recipes for items like an easy to make deodorant. You can sign up for this here.
Spring is here and summer is close behind. The tomatoes I started in the kitchen have reached the height of the lights on their racks and I just moved them out to the glass greenhouse along with the squash plants. Next, they need to be re-potted in larger containers until it’s warm enough to put them in the ground.
There are goat kids on the ground with more on the way, Speckled Sussex chicks that have just feathered out, and the bees are just starting to make an appearance. I hope you’ll join me on the farm this season as we work in the garden, orchard, pasture, and kitchen.
